The project involves the collaboration of three local units, each based in an Italian university, in keeping with the aims of the call to strengthen interactions between universities, the ministry and the European Union.

I’m Paolo, I’m Professor of Food law and EU agricultural law at the University of Ferrara. After a PhD in the University of Pisa and after some experiences as a contract professor, in 2002 I finally obtained a chair in Ferrara, where I’ve been Director of a PhD program and of a Research Center about EU Law. I’m also a lawyer, and both in my academic and in my professional experience I study and practice many areas of the agro-food law (food safety and risk assessment, food information to consumers, food innovation, food chain contracts, etc.)
I am a lawyer and a researcher in Agrifood law at the University of Ferrara.
I graduated in 2018 from the Luiss Guido Carli University with a thesis in food law on food supplements and new communication strategies. In 2019, I completed the Advanced Training Course in Food Law at the University of Eastern Piedmont. In 2020, she obtained a Level II Inter-University Master in Food Law at the Universities of Roma Tre, Tuscia and Campus Bio Medico, with a thesis on the functioning of the rapid alert system “RASFF”. In 2024, I obtained the PhD in Agrifood law with a thesis on the Official Controlos system in the food chain. Since January 2020, she has been an academic tutor for the same Master’s degree. She has been a lecturer in Food Law at the University of Tuscia and University of Parma. I ranked on The Legal 500’s list in the Food category and in 2024 received the “rising star” award in the same field.
I'm Mariassunta a Phd student in Agrifood law at the University of Ferrara. I graduated in European Agricultural law with a thesis on the concept of sustainability in the Common Agriculture policy (CAP) 2023-2027 and in the Farm to Fork strategy. Her research focuses on the effectiveness of subsidies provided CAP to foster innovation in the agriculture and the food sector. She has held some seminars for students of the Food and AgriFood Law course. She has had the opportunity to participate as an observer at the Efsa GMO Panel Plenary Meeting.

Hi! My name is Valeria. I am a lawyer and a researcher in Agrifood law at the University of Padova. After my PhD in EU law at the University of Ferrara, I worked as Postdoc at the University of Eastern Piedmont and at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. I am currently lecturing in the Master Programs “Food and Health” (where I am also cooperating in several management and internationalization activities), “Biotechnologies for food science”, “Scienze e tecnologie agrarie” (science and technologies for agriculture) and in several postgraduate masters and training courses in the food law area.
I'm Archana! I'm engaged as a Research fellow at the University of Padova and holds a Master's in Food and Health at the University of Padova and a Master's in Food Process Engineering from the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management in India. My academic prowess is complemented by a year-long tenure as a Rural Development Fellow with the M.S. Swaminathan Foundation, focusing on empowering Indian marginalized tribal farmers and promoting nutrition gardens to address food insecurity challenges.

Margherita is a lecturer of agriculture and food law at the University of Brescia. Her main research interests pertain to the intersection between human rights and natural resources in the agriculture sector. She is currently working on the evolution of the definition of farmer in Italian law. She has an interdisciplinary background, having explored food and agriculture law in the context of two social science projects (on food systems diversity, and food e-commerce) as well as under a comparative and international law perspective (human rights and corporate social responsibility).
